How society views hair loss in women

A woman’s hair is one of the first things that catch the eye of most people that she meets each day and it helps to create an impression about her. So when a woman suffers from any form of hair loss it becomes a big issue for her as it affects not only how she sees and feels about herself but also how others feel and think about her. Unfortunately society has differing views on women who are losing their hair and often what we find is that they are not readily accepted.

According to studies women with a lustrous mane are known to be viewed as more successful, desirable and attractive than those who are suffering from hair related problems. The society in general has a different way it looks at women who have healthy hair and at ones who do not have it.

The way people look at such women is enough to make them hear the thoughts people have swirling around that they are not acceptable and an ugly sight to look at. Due to this, women these days are increasingly feeling depressed, ashamed and worthless and are having negative thoughts which is not healthy.

It has been noticed that women with less hair feel very uncomfortable in the presence of other women who have good hair and look for excuses to leave their company.

Due to society’s negative view of women’s hair loss many women have resorted to wearing wigs to cover up their problem. This seems to be acceptable to the society at large. Some women have also resorted to seeking hair implants, which can be very expensive. Others are using herbal remedies or are consulting their doctors. They are doing all of this because the society refuses to accept them, and their hair loss.
