Cosmetic surgery: Thigh Lift Questions

What is Thigh Lifting?

Thigh lift is a surgical procedure that is used in order to reduce the sagging skin from the area around the thighs and give it a lift in order makes it look more trim and sexy. Many people opt for a thigh lift after they have undergone a liposuction procedure or after losing a lot of weight that left them with sagging skin.

Is this procedure safe?

This procedure is very safe but since this is a surgical procedure, it would have few side effects and is not completely 100% safe like many other similar procedures to tighten the skin. The doctor performing the surgery normally gives the patient local or general anesthesia while performing this surgery and therefore people doing this procedure may have anesthetic reactions as a side effect. Since the skin gets opened up in the thighs, the chance of infection is certainly possible. If you should suffer an infection because of the procedure your doctor will prescribe some medication to treat these it.

Different types of Thigh Lifts

There are many kinds of thigh lifts that one can opt for based on the problem that they want to get rid of. The most common of all the thigh lifts done are bilateral, medial and inner thigh lifts. An inner thigh lift is done on the inner portion of the thigh for tightening the skin in that area. Bilateral thigh lift is done to tighten the outside portion and the front portion of the thigh and the medial thigh lift is done to remove any excessive fat from the upper part of the thigh.

It is important that you discuss the procedure with your doctor before you get it done. If possible take a look at before and after pictures so that you have an idea of whet the end result will be.
